Project Fit

Another day, another ClassPass winner!

Continuing my mission to get the most out of ClassPass and see everything it has to offer, I went to check out Project Fit last week.

Project Fit, London, fitness, HIIT training, TRX, City of London

This is another HIIT-style gym with a mix of treadmills and free weights/floor mats to vary the workout, which could feel really same-y to some of the others I’ve done except for the fact that they’ve added TRX straps to the mix to really kill you on the strength exercises. It’s also a two-level gym with the treadmills on a level a few steps above the main floor so it feels a little bigger and like there’s a bit more space between you and your mat-mates.

Project Fit, fitness, HIIT, TRX, City of London

Despite the slightly scary tagline 'You vs Your Body' (!) it's really not scary--just a good, intense workout.

The major pros are the amazingly central location in the City, a short walk from Bank or Monument stations, and the number of class times available.

It’s easy to find and the staff are super friendly. The receptionist and our trainer, Ben (despite having almost no voice on the day) were lovely and enthusiastic and very helpful.

Two towels (one for the gym, one for the showers) and lockers are included in the price, and the changing rooms and showers are clean, well-kept and provide some soaps, so you don’t have to worry about lugging too much with you other than your gym kit.

On top of this being my first Project Fit experience this was my first proper TRX workout and it was intense. It really upped the workout level for the floor exercises and worked different muscle groups. Throw in some free weight and body-weight exercises on top of the high intensity treadmill intervals and I was a complete noodle at the end. And, just in case you are, too, they’ve got a helpful protein-shake bar and selection of bottled water and juice drinks available to help you recover.

With all of that said, the only down-side I could find of the whole Project Fit set up is the fact that it’s in a basement so you’ve got not one but two flights of stairs to get up at the end of the workout!

Compared to my recent experience at Frame Camp this was definitely harder and also a full hour-long workout. Relative to Barry’s, I’d say you probably get just as much bang for your buck.

Have you been to Project Fit? What did you think?
